Music Video Finale

My new team and I are making music videos. My team consists of, Justin, Ian, and Kaulia. For our song, we picked Don't Wanna Know by Maroon 5. At first we were going to do All Star By Smash Mouth, but we decided to go with this song. I also convinced them to pick it. We all think this song is appropriate for our plot. Our plot is I loose my sketchbook and it travels around the island, and eventually comes back to me. I just can't wait to start filming this!!

Our story line is where I loose my sketchbook and it travels to new people everyday. When the people get the sketchbook, the draw where they found it. It relates to the song lyrics because it says, "I don't wanna know who's tacking you home" and I don't wanna know who's tacking the sketchbook home and drawing in it. It also uses flashbacks like Maroon 5 did on the music video. I hope it turns out as good as I hoped it would.

This end of the year Music Video project showcases my best work and all my talents and things I learned over the year. It showcases how I work with a team, my Photoshop skills, my editing skills and the quality of my work. In the music video we have to cut to the beat, have camera movement and effects. The lip-synchs have to be balanced out with story line, going back and forth. This project was REALLY fun to do and I hope by the time i'm done it will finally be in first place!

Artist: Maroon 5
Song: Don't Wanna Know
Lyrics we used:
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
I'm loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, no
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
I'm loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know
Wasted (wasted)
And the more I drink the more I think about you
Oh no, no, I can't take it Baby every place I go reminds me of you
Do you think of me? Of what we used to be? Is it better now that I'm not around?
My friends are actin' strange They don't bring up your name
Are you happy now?
Are you happy now?
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
I'm loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, no
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
I'm loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know
And I every time I go out, yeah
I hear it from this one, I hear it from that one Glad you got someone new
Yeah, I see but I don't believe it
Even in my head you're still in my bed
Maybe I'm just a fool
Do you think of me?
Of what we used to be?
Is it better now that I'm not around?
My friends are acting strange
They don't bring up your name
Are you happy now?

Movie Trailer Premier

Our next project is a Movie trailer and our goal is to create a 90-120 second movie trailer that captivates the audience with a mind blowing cliffhanger. You need to have a dramatic voice actor and explain why your movie is a "must see". You also have to have an awesome movie poster and provide the highest quality of production to make the audience stay glued to the screen. My part in all of this was making the movie poster, part of the synopsis and the lead role in our fake film. My team's movie trailer is about how an outcast goes missing and no one cares, but these kids do. They go looking for her, but what did they find. I think this project will be my favorite project yet because I love mysteries and my team was wisely chosen.

My team's biggest challenge would be the editing process. It is very stressful and sometimes the shoots don't go so well and we don't have anything to add. Although editing is hard, the shooting process is very fun to me. Even though we have to be serious, we can't stop having fun and laughing. Every time we film we always have so much extra clips and bloopers. Tough times will stump us, but as long as we have friends and support, it will seem like your having the time of your life.

Our team's results on the Movie Trailer critique  wasn't a bad score. We actually got second place in best Movie Trailer. My team got mostly met the expectations and above and beyond. My team learned that it takes a long time to create a high production value of work. Although it took forever, my team and I had a lot of fun doing this project and I hope we can do something like this next year.

Metimorphasis Animation

The goal of our animation project is to first pitch your two best ideas in a presentation slide. Next, you have to create a plan and get yourself organized for the animation process. For the animation process, the goal is to create characters, props, and settings cleverly. You have to create a 1-2 minute story with creative animation concept. Then, you have to present it to the class with your best work and creativity. The animation we are using is, Stop-Motion, PhotoShop, Flip Book, Whiteboard and Stykz.

My group's focus statement is Mouse Faces Fears. Our plot is Mouse becomes Lion with help from a more nice creature, an old Lion. The meaning of our story is to face your fears and be your self and always face your fears. Scene 1 starts with other mean mice teasing Dill the mouse. They start to copy him, which cause him to cry. In scene 2, Dill runs away because he doesn't want to be hurt anymore. He bumps into a lion, John, in a cave. At first, Dill is scared, but he learns to like him. Scene 3, John helps Dill become brave, and once he learned, his fur changed color, his main was huge, his paws were massive, and his heart was not scared. He was a lion! Scene 4, Dill went back to the mouse field, and all the mice ran away. Dill laughs and goes away to find new friends. Scene 5, Dill meets a group of lions. He walks up to them and asks,"Will you be my friends?" They were quite and Dill was nerves. "Yes!" they said, and Dill finally found friends who with appreciate him.

I agree with my team's results on the critique. We did not get a perfect 4 or deserve a 1 or 2. We got a 3.3. We had very few flaws. Some flaws were the audio, it didn't quite meet the timing of the pictures. Another flaw is the drawing quality, we had to rush on the last shot because we didn't want to miss the deadline. We graded on, clarity, message, characters, and overall animation. If we do another type of animation project in the future, I will make sure to spend all of the time I have to make it by best and highest quality work!

Geometric Portraits

Facial expressions are universal because a face expression is no different anywhere else then here. It is like that because facial expressions show one thing, how you are feeling. Whether you are feeling mad, sad, happy, or confused your facial expression doesn't change around the world. It doesn't matter if you are from China, your face looks different, all of our facial expressions say what we are feeling. Facial expressions don't change, they are universal. Even though we are all different, our facial expressions show emotions, which we all have.

I created this project by first using a picture of myself. After that, I cut a red line down the middle of my face and only worked on the right side. However, in my other poly, you skip this step and go straight to making triangles. Then, I outlined all of the polygons that fitted in my face and hair. Next, I took the polygonal lasso tool and filled all of the polygons to make my face full of shapes using filter, blur, average, or command F. In poly-2 though, you select the triangle and use the eye dropper. Last, I flipped the right side of my face to make a full face. For poly-2, the last thing I did was choose the background color and fixed the brightness and contrast. To me these projects were fun, but it was very time consuming.

Each of my low-poly projects is very compelling, but they both have lots of triangles and hard work. The poly-1 though has outline and poly-2 is free for all. In poly-2 I didn't use filter, blur, average, I used the eye dropper tool to fill the color. However, both poly images have lots of detail and color. In each image I used different pictures. The first one of me by Photo booth, and one of my mom by me. In poly-2, the background is more poly, poly-1 is plain white. Each poly has differences and similarities, but they each look good and accurate.

Verbal Landscapes

You can interact with nature by growing trees and planting flowers. Another reason is to not pollute our air. This tells plants you want them to live. The last reason you can interact with nature is by help feed the animals. Those are the reasons you could interact with nature. Nature has a great impact on our lives because it helps us survive. Trees give us air, plants give us food and clothes. The sun we could not live without. Nature gives us ideas to create and inspire. Those are the reasons nature has a big impact.

Time lapses and slow-mos are created by slowing or speeding up things in nature. To take a time lap or slow-mo you just take a video and in the editing process, you either speed it up or slow down. It is as easy as that. Most time lapses are two-third sky and one-third ground. Others are a blooming of a flower or act of nature. Slow-mos are slowed downed acts of nature. Time lapses are sped up acts of nature. It is not that hard to create a time laps and slow-mo.

The hardest part of this project was the editing process. To me it took a lot of work and effort to get it to my liking. My favorite part of it was being able to interact with nature and write nature. Another one of my favorite parts was when I got to take the videos. They were fun to watch nature through out the day. Through day to evening, through clouds and rain, and through the best part of day, sun. I really loved this project and being able to interact with nature.

Most of my class picked a two out of four. I think I deserve it because my poem does not fit the time of shots. My shots are also not that bright and one time lapse is wobbly. With the score I got, I agree with it, but I was hoping for a better score.

Poetic Personal Statement

To me, I think poetry is a form of expressing people’s feelings and emotions. Poetry is also a form of writing and art that expresses people’s thoughts without using their mouth, but their mind. Poetry is also a way to make people laugh, smile, frown, and be who they are. Not write a boring old paper about the world, but to express and create what they think writing should be! Poetry is used to express feelings and to make people feel happy about their writing. Poetry is also used for entertain people with creativity and talent.

Burrowing through to become a superhero, better then the the rest take it to the test
Power is not a flower, it will control you until you get sucked into a black hole
Being loyal is like foil, easy to tear but sticks together forever
Light is my knight, it keeps me safe and far from darkness
My dreams go farther than the beams of the sun, never stopping until I have won
The race against myself, ups and downs bump my path but never stopping,
forever I am.

I used rhythm and rhyme because it helps me memorize and get into the flow of my writing. I also used it because it helps my poem sound better. I used rhythm and rhyme by just going with the flow and finding the perfect word to match me and my poem. I used rhyme because my poem sounds better with rhyming word then just words that don't go together. I used rhythm because it helps the rhyming words go together and with the flow. Poems, rhymes and rhythm just go together.
